I just ran across an Ebay listing for a 1955 62 sedan with Fleetwood interior which Im sure the owner got from the Body by Fisher Interior by Fleetwood tag that came on all Cadillacs for decades (apparently the owner didnt think Fisher body was worth mentioning). If Cadillac had put the name of their automatic transmission in chrome on the outside of the car as many other makes did in the 40s and 50s, wed no doubt be seeing ads for Cadillac Hydramatics as we often do for Buick Dynaflows, Chrysler Fluid Drives and Chevrolet Powerglides.

I once saw a 68 Fleetwood Convertible on ebay that the seller insisted was not a Deville because of that same tag.

Just like those that swear their car had the Cadillac 501 because of the sticker under the hood.  I think this came from you Stampie.

Yep that is from my comcast home page.  Who would have guessed by the cadillacperformance part.  BTW this link is clickable:

The infamous 501 has a big brother: a 502(not a Chevy). Lets blame Stampie for starting this! LOL Bob

I could really confuse people and talk about the 514 that will be going into my 70 SDV.

Now if they would have read further down on the tag they would have seen the "472 cu. in." in small print.

The 500s for 75 and 76 said 6V43 on the tag. Now you dont see people trying to say they were 258 cid V-6s built by Detroit Diesel.
