Can someone tell me what is going on? On Ebay there is a 1979 Eldorado with 25k miles in triple yellow, but it has a Biarritz trim level, without the roof. What is this? Is it a "Franken Mobile"? You think the previous owner love the Biarritz but could afford one, so he bought a regular Eldo and then went to the parts counter or later found these parts on a junk yard car and put them on. Dont get me wrong the car is nice (except for the top coming away from the body) but what do you think?

Here is the link to the 79 Eldorado in Colonial Yellow that I think you may be referring to:

It appears to me that only the Biarritz bodyside spear and over the roof chrome strip are present on the car, otherwise it is a base Eldorado (interior, etc.) It was probably done by someone who did not realize the difference may be significant in the eyes of other observers, when restoring the car, or perhaps by the original selling dealer at the customers request. Either way, I prefer it without the molding unless it is a true Biarritz, (i.e. stock).
