Does anyone have any news on the casino collection, or any Cadillac Lasalle updates from New Orleans???
No news from there is getting to be BAD news IMO.

Oh mercy.  Cops patrolling in stolen Cadillacs, Muslims doing sensitivity training...maybe the hurricane was Gods revenge.

While I am fairly certain that you meant that last comment about Gods revenge as a joke, I am saddened by how many people have seriously voiced that very thought--on television, in print, even a state senator here in Alabama. As a Presbyterian deacon, I am deeply offended by those who are portraying God in a way that advances their own political beliefs about gambling, drinking, smoking, etc..

I believe Katrina did a great deal of damage in New Orleans because the city is below sea level.  That was the cause.

Of course, if you still believe that a vengeful, hateful God destroyed NOLA, youre not alone.  Al-Quaida and the Nation of Islam have both claimed God sent the hurricane to New Orleans for its wickedness.

Probably best not to let them do the sensitivity training then.

I wonder if theyre saying the same thing about the powerful earthquake that rocked the area in Pakistan where Osama is probably hiding.  Im guessing not..................

They wont admit it, but in fact the Pakistan tragedy [far worse than New Orleans but sooner forgotten, mark my words] was a US-backed plot to strike at Allah for his dirty deeds in our South.  This time it was not the God of the Muslims who struck, it was that all-powerful divinity seated at Georges right hand and who, he says, helps him to govern this great nation.  She is the one [and, pray, why NOT a She?] who blesses America - and NOBODY else - at Georges command!

The topic is New Orleans and Cadillac.
Politics is a great way to make enemies, not friends.

Dont you just hate it when people hijack threads? Fortunately it doesnt happen here very often.  There is another board that I frequent, a sewing forum where people are always changing the subject.  A thread about making welt seams gets started, and the next thing you know, somebody is talking about baking a cake, or shopping for groceries.

Thanks for bringing us back on topic.

Yes, my apologies.  I guess Im still upset over New Orleans and what happened there.  I went to NOLA about a week after the storm and dont have good news to report about the cars there.  Basically, if it wasnt in the Quarter or Garden District, its gone.  Cars were tossed around like playthings.  There was a 1958 Fleetwood (white) that I used to see parked in the Quarter--Ive been told it got out.  A really nice 1976 Fleetwood that used to be parked on Poland St. was also gone.  Im hoping it made it out.  All the car dealerships are shot.  Most were east of town, which was hard hit.  The water mark, or should I say "slime mark," was up above the rearview mirrors.

The Caddy dealership, if I recall correctly, was west of Canal Street (also hard hit).  But the dealership is/was two stories, so perhaps the second level turned out okay.

That is what I feared.
So many lost and ravaged.
I hope they will be restored or sold at auction, and not junked = melted down for metal.
