96 STS Rainsensor windsheild problems

have a 96 sts with the rainsensor option,replaced windsheild,now my delay wipers dont work anymore,installed the wiper box to the windsheild with 2 sided tape,left a hole in middle for little eyes to see the water?.talked to a glass shop and they said i need a gel pack for it?,old windsheild said it was rainsensor compatible,new one does not mention this anywhere?,can i bypass this some how if my window is not usable? has anyone had any experience with this gadget?   thanks Harvey B

Hello Harvey,

We had the windshield replace in our 96 Concours back in 98.  The windshield place glued it on with some black sealant.  Of course it did not work.

We took the car into the dealer and they reinstalled it with some clear goo stuff.  Exactly where the sensor is positioned is important too.  

Stop by a dealer, they should have the right stuff and know exactly where it goes.
