Heres a good history lesson. Maybe a good article for the Self Starter(hint) or a good spot for a future CLC cruise(hint, hint). http://www.fleetwoodpa.org/fleetwood_metal_body_co.htm TARGET=_blank>http://www.fleetwoodpa.org/fleetwood_metal_body_co.htm

Sadly from what I understand, the remnants of the original factory just burnt down this week.

Seasons Greetings all.

CLC member Jim Schild has already written an excellent book on Fleetwood and its history.

Published in 2001 by The Auto Review, <em>Fleetwood, The Company & The Coachcraft</em> is definitely worth purchasing if you can find a copy.

I tried to buy a copy of the book a couple of years ago but apparently there was only one print run based on the number of orders received.  Jim does sell a cd version on 2 cds, using Adobe software.  I printed a copy from the cds.

One of the buildings burned on Christmas Eve. It was quite a fire, considering all of the wood construction in the old building. The building was heavily damaged and is going to be demolished. Two other buildings from the Fleetwood Metal Body days are still standing.
