My car is a 1965 El Dorado Convertable Black with Black top and Black leather

Some years before I bought my car (20+ years ago) someone replaced the burl walnut wood grain on both doors and both rear quarter inside trim panels with a sheet of what appears to be Mahogany plywood.

Question:  Was the original burl vaneer on a thin metal sheet that was then glued onto the chrome trim panel on the door leather and the inside quarter trim panels??

Who would have the original pattern burl walnut vaneer or is it available as a decal???
Or would it be correct to use Formica Cabinet top material. Who would make the right pattern in formica???

Is the Di-noc decal company still in business??

Thanks for your help.              Bill Tabor
