does the 390 engine from a 1959 1960 1961 cadillac bolt straight in to a 55 cadillac. my 55 cadillac has spun a main bearing and am thinking of putting the latter model engine in. any help would be most appreciated. regards

Did you read the rest of the postings in the  331 to 365 or 390 conversion thread that you participated in.  Scroll about half way down to find it again and you will see John Washburns and Art Woodys responses which look to me like they answer your question.  It says 55 to 62 is basically the same.
