Does anyone in the club have photographs of the engine compartment of the 1956 Eldorado Brougham prototype (not the Town Car)? Does anyone know if this car still exists? -- David Temple

I guess you talking about the 55 mock-up with dual headlights that evolved over a period of some 18 months into the 56 pre-production model with quad hedlights shown on this page of the Cadillac Database:

I believe this car, like the Town Car, was not motorized.  If it did survive its in a better hiding place than was the Town Car!

This pre-production proto was photographed from every possible angle, between June 1955 and January 1957 by staff photographer Madler [factory photos in the series from #11356 through #12000 and some].  If any photos of the engine compartment do exist, they would be in that series ...but I think you will be disappointed. Check with GM Media Archives (I dont have a contact at my fingertips).

Thanks for the information Yann. Yes, my inquiry was about the car you described. -- David Temple
