Just a simple question, although if it was so simple, I would know the answer.. I have a spare drivetrain from a 38 60 special that some goof made into a streetrod.. I think the rear would fit fine into a 38 LaSalle convertible coupe.. Does anyone know for sure? The frames and wheelbases are totally different, so that is why I am asking.

My parts book shows different axle HOUSINGS between 50 and 60S cars. However, the differential and Carrier asembly (A.K.A. pig) is the same for 50,60,60s in 1938.

This means that you can install the 38-60S pig in the LaSalle axle housing.
