81 eldo power steering

I just changed my power steering hoses and filled up the resivour and now i have no power steering at all.  I was told to bleed it by turning the wheel but i cant turn the wheel because there is no power steering and the car is heavy. Any advice? Could my pump be bad?

  Jack up one or both front wheels, and it will be easy to turn them.  Be sure to fill the reservoir often as you bleed it.
