1970 DeVille Glove Compartment Lock?

How do I remove it? The manual says to depress a tab while the lock is in the closed position and thenm place the key in. Atthis point, it should come out. Its not working for me.

I fugured it out. A Chevy web page showed me the trick. But it turns out my replacement cylinder is shorter than my original. I think I solder the piece back that came off. Looks like it was just glued on to begin with.
