OK, I removed both fender skirts to do some repairs on my 67 Deville, I replaced the rear mounting brackets. with some nice freshly painted ones. I installed the mounting bracket and left it loose I installed the left hand fender skirt and set it where I wanted it and turned up the mounting rod. Then I tighted the mounting bracket and it fit fine, I did the same to the right hand side but, the dogone rod seems to want to push the skirt out and down when the rod is locked in, I looked at the rod and it looks the same as the left side. I dont understand . It came off ok . Any ideas?

The mounting bracket you put on is probably slightly different from the one you took off.  The bracket might need to be bent slightly, or have the slot enlarged, for the skirt to fit properly.  I had the same problem on a 68 Wildcat and a 71 Eldorado.  Adjusting the bracket fixed the problem.
