Is the nutral safty switch the same for a 1955 and 1956 or is it different do to the reverse location?Thanks.G.L.

The neutral safety switch for 1955 is not at all the same than the one for 1956. By the way, the safety switch for 1956 was used til 1959 (exc. for cars with cruise control in 1959)
