Transmission Fluid

I am having a problem finding type A fluid.......is there a substitute?  I have a 1955 Series 62 with a Hydramatic Transmission???/   Thanks!

Mike, According to a post by a PAUL FLYKT on 05-04-06 @ 3:24PM he said that DEXRON II or III is OK. Suggest you use the search function associated with the Forum Index and search for tranmission fluid, or Goggle it.

Long time ago I posted a message on this site regarding this topic, I also included it the following URL for Warren Oil Company that carries Type A trans fluid http://www.warrenoil.com. TARGET=_blank>http://www.warrenoil.com.

The have several manufacture locations and any one closes to you could provide you with a local distributor.

I found a Wholesale place in the Dallas area that also carries the Type A (not from Warren) and I purchase a case for around $14. Good luck..!
