Apart from the unsettled weather (not unusual for this part of the North Sea coastline at this time of the year), the meet was a great success. Gita and I participated as guests of Belgian CLC members - and old friends - Rik and Corry Gruwez, aboard their top-notch turquoise and white 1959 Coupe de Ville. We toured the medieval city of Bruges on Saturday morning as well as the show of cars and award ceremony on Sunday. Best of show was Dutchman Frits Mast´s "brand new", 11,000-miles-on-the-clock, 1959 Coupe de Ville. One of the rarest on show was a 1930 V-16 convertible coupe from Spain (Fleetwood style 4335 - number 32 of 100 built). Sad to report, the rarest car at the show (1959 Eldorado Brougham, number 43 of 99 built), that had come over from England, was damaged by its owner as he backed out of his reserved parking spot on the way to being judged.
