Is Dexron/Mercron III the transmission fluid that supercedes Type A?  I want to flush and replace the fluid in the power steering pump on my 66 Eldorado but I want to use the correct fluid.  Are the two fluids compatible if some of the older fluid remains in the lines?

Thanks!

Greg

Greg;

Yes, any product that has Dexron II or III is compatible with the old Type A. Ive used it in my 53 in both the transmission and power steering with no trouble at all.
