Bob, Check on the flat surface above the water-pump AND on the drivers side of the engine to the rear of the engine, just below the cylinder-head.
The S/N of the origional engine should be stamped into the top of the frame just to the rear of the steering sector.
Post the numbers you find and where, and readers should be able to tell you what size engine it has.
Good Luck,JIM

Bob, sorry I cant help you with the engine number. My motors Manuel list all of the engine S/N from 1935 to 1951 but the number you posted on the board must be a SN for a replacement engine. Bob, when youy post a new message, hang it on to the last message you posted. Someone will post a reason why the SN that you posted doesnt come-up in my motors-manuel.

Good Luck,JIM
P.S. Bob, I would have to assume (I know, bad word) that it is the 322CID La Salle engine.
