Chic Gray

soon to be painting my 37 LaSalle and would like some advice as to which is the better of paints.  Laquer or acrillic emamel?  And what is the difference between acrylic enamel and just plain enamel?  Once painting is finished, do they both look the same?

Chic,

What color is the car ?

To quote Yogi Berra " Nobody goes to Mama Leones anymore, its too crowded ".

You want to use modern urethane paint like the new cars for the last 20 years, most durable.

Lacquer is an antiquated paint product, all enamel is acrylic now, just not as durable as urethane.

They will all look the same in a solid color, basecoat / clearcoat is the norm these days, all collision repair shops use it to duplicate the new car finish. Youll be hard pressed to find anyone to spray anything else for you in a metallic.

You can spray solid color urethane without the clear, looks the same as lacquer or enamel. Urethane has the best UV ray protection and best durability.

Well kick this subject around for awhile, others will chime in.

HTH,

Porter
