What years did the Brougham Owners Association exist? -- David Temple, #22317

Hello, I do have a 1975 Brougham Owners Association Roster. If you need any of 1975 owners names, addresses or phone numbers just let me know. Mike

Harry Carlson #16432

Mike,

Does the old Brougham Owners Association roster name the body numbers of the cars owned?  Id love to know who owned my 58 Brougham in 1975, I dont think it was the guy I bought it from.

In fact, I think my Brougham was "lost" in 1975.

Regards, Harry Carlson #16432

P.S. My 58 Brougham is body #406.

Yann Saunders, CLC #12588

Cy Strickler founded the Association circa 1973-74; Cy was a Delta airline pilot, out of Atlanta. I joined his BOA in 1974 and kept up my membership for about 5-6 years. I have the rosters fron 1975, 1976, 1977-78. Im not sure when Cy quit; I think it was around 1984-85.

The BOA was given fresh impetus by the late Allan Dowling (Allan passed Feb. 22, 2003). He presided over the BOA for 14 years, from circa 1990 to 2003.

Made into a corporation by Allan, the BOA was put up for sale by his widow Jean M. Dowling.  Regrettably, there were no takers. Members of the BOA were later encouraged to become affiliated with he CLC.

Your Brougham (#406) appears in Cy Stricklers 1976 and 1977-78 rosters. Accurate records of its existence were available to Cy  but the owner was NOT a BOA member. The car was first delivered to a dealer or user in Michigan. Thats all I have. Now might I ask you to provide some info and pics of your car for the CLCs own roster in the Cadillac Database?  Thanks.

Thanks for the information, Yann! -- David Temple, #22317

Yann,

You were already kind enough to post a picture of my 58 Brougham #406 in September, between your trips!

I have decided to sell my beloved Brougham.  I placed an ad for it in the November Hemmings.  It "sold" quickly but my buyers financing has fallen through so #406 is now back on the market.

I will keep  you posted and of course recommend to the buyer thay they join the CLC.

About 75percent of the 1975 owners have the body # listed. Sorry nothing on 1958 body # 406.

Would you be so kind Mike as to report to me if there is anything listed on #539 in 1975...Thank you!

Harry Carlson #16432

Thank you Mike for checking on #406 for me.  I think #406 was sitting in a garage somewhere in 1975.

Yann Saunders, CLC #12588

None of the 58s were listed in the 1975 roster (the list stops with car #400 of the 1957 production - Cy Strickler had not yet completed his research into the 1958-59-60 models).

Yann Saunders, CLC #12588

Correction to my last message:  although there was no actual LISTING of the 58 Broughams in the 1975 Roster, nevertheless, among the listed Brougham owners, some were shown as having 58 models.  Neither car #406 nor #575 were among them.

my car is #539...not #575 as posted in your reply, not sure if you just transposed the number or not. Thank you!

Yann Saunders, CLC #12588

Sorry! My mistake.  I just checked again; #539 is not attached to any owner in the 1975 Roster.
