does anyone know how to replace the distributor vacuum advance unit on a 1964 429 engine.  Can this be done without removing the distributor?

thanks

Gday Jeff,

The Vacuum Advance units from any Delco Distributor can be replaced without removing the Distributor from the engine.

You just have to take a bit of care to not drop the screws as you undo, and replace them.

At least with the 429, the Distributor is at the front and you dont have to climb all over the engine as in a rear-mounted one.
