Does anyone out there have a source for a replacement extension spring on the front seat adjustment mechanism?  I have combed the internet and not found what I need.  McMaster-Carr doesnt have one similar enough to use as a replacement.

Its for a 1947 Fleetwood.

If it is an ordinary coil spring, take it to a hardware store and see if they can match it. Home Depot is less likely to have a good selection. You may aso want to try a locksmith, they seem to have a lot of that sort of stuff if the shop is more than twenty years in business.
