I tried double clutching it but it wouldnt work. The gear grinds and I have to force it in. I put 85w/140w gear oil. Is this too thick? What do I need to check before taking the transmission apart? Thanks

Two things usually cause hard shifting.  Bad synchronizers and a clutch that will not release fully. Since it is only third gear, I would guess the synchronizer. The blocking ring may be cracked.
