Leland Award

This notice is to inform the Club membership that any nominations for this year's Leland Award must by physically in my hands by May 20th, 2007.

Specifications include that the nominee cannot have served as President of the Club. His or her attributes and contributions to the Club should be such that listing them will cover one and one half to two 8 1/2 x 11" pages single spaced. (In other words, a couple of sentences will simply not hack it.) The nominee must be an active, dues paying National Club member. Not just a Region member, which we are not supposed to have anyway...

The person making the nomination must be an active, dues paying National Club member, signing the nomination with his/her membership number, along with two other National Club members agreeing to the nomination, and also signing the nomination. It is preferred that the nominated person NOT be informed of such, as they may also be considered in subsequent years if not selected currently.

This is our Club's highest Award. We don't want nominations for "good ol' Joe" who has three friends who think he's the greatest. He/she may really BE the greatest, but the person we want has served the Club for years, probably in an un-sung manner, simply "getting the job done."

Region Directors/Presidents have had this information for action and disemination since November. My address is listed in the Directory in two places: My state listing (IN) and the Past President's listing. E-mail nominations are not acceptable, as they cannot be signed.
