have a 37 caddy 60 series 4 dr conv sedan 6049 body style.recently removed body and have reinstalled it,we used body mounts that were 3/8 thick just like shop manual stated.they are made of hard rubber and are from a potatoe digger?,a freind of mine who works at a plant where they build these machines ghave them to me,they actually look pretty good and fit well too.my question is does anyone know where i can get the proper ones, these seem to be compressing when there is weight in the car,the doors do not seem to work properly?,also what is the factory specs for them,i have shop manual,it is very vague in this area.i am planning to drive the car for the summer as is and replace them this winter, problem is not great but i know they are not right and want to rectify it.i bought some on ebay, they were crap, not the right size, too small and really thin.steele does not have them for a conv,im thinking there must be a difference in them?.  any help is appreciated  thanks Harvey Bowness

Try Steele Rubber Products Catalog about page 102. Listed is part # 70-0244-48, cushions for body bolts for 1934-37.  Their 800 number 800-544-8665

Also look at part # 50-0131-48, or # 70-0235-48 also in Steele Catalog, which shows 3/8 thick

I am not sure about 37 but 38,39 and 40 (most maybe all models) do not have rubber in the first two up front rows of body to frame mounts.  A thin anti-squeak material is used at those locations.  If rubber is used at these locations it causes several alignment problems.  I don't know the reference where I have found this information but as I recall the convertibles call for a higher bolt torque on the body mounts than the sedan models.
