I just called my local Cadillac dealer and was told the EOS part #10523267 was discontined and if I wanted the GM camshaft prelube #12345501 I had to order a case of 12 at a time. Has anyone else experienced this?

Frank has a good suggestion.  Also check your part number.  I bought some EOS #1052367 from a Chevy dealer last Friday.  The number you quoted has an extra "2" in it.

You are right, I typed the number wrong, but I told the parts man the right number. I have it written down. The dealer I called is  also the local Chevy dealer.

I have been using EOS P/N 992869, and I understand that it is differant than EOS P/N 1052367. Check to see if this is still available. It is an oil additive.

Isn't that true to form?  As soon as GM comes up with a product that people WANT to BUY, they discontinue it !!!!!!  No wonder they're on the ropes.....

EOS isn't (wasn't?) a recent development. My parents had a '64 Oldsmobile that was prone to lifter tap (always when started cold and occasionally when warm). The service manager recommended EOS with each oil change and it stopped the noise.

That's right. EOS has been around for a very long time. But it's active ingerdient is Zddf and the environmentalists don't like it because it tends to shorten convertor life.

They never think that there are a lot of older cars out there that will certainly benefit from it.

I bought some GM EOS #1052367 from Allen Samuels Chevrolet in Texas for $6.50 per bottle plus tax. That's their internet price. They did not even charge me shipping to Indiana. http://www.gm-parts-dealer.com/
