Here's a good one -

I've heard the trunk lids for 57 (and I would assume therefore, 58 as well) Eldorado coupes
and convertibles are different.

Can anyone describe the difference?  My restoration shop seems to think my Biarritz isn't a
Biarritz...

Carl,

According to the ’57 Master Parts Book the deck lid for Seville and Biarritz are different part numbers and therefore are different in some way. I suspect that difference is in the area where the lid meets the convertible top.  The coupe lid ends at the chrome trim for the rear glass. The convertible would have a band where the top cover locks down. The '58 uses the same body shell so I would assume the same difference exists.

Ralph -

That seems to make sense - I'll have to drag out all the books
and look for tail-end shots of the Seville to be absolutely certain.

You guys are the best - I don't think the GM Heritage center knows as much
about these cars as the guys whho post on the CLC message forum!

If there is a question as to your Biarritz being a SeVille . Have you checked the body plate? It too could be changed ,but the rivets are hard to match.Warren
