Heel, I am in the middle of a frame off restoration. My original body guy disappeared with my money and certain parts. I need to know how many body pads and fitting are needed to put the body back on the chasse. If I could get this info and part numbers/where to order them would be great.Thanks,G.Lucas. ???

First of all, sorry about your bad luck.  I've been there myself with
a restoration shop some years ago.

As to your problem -- check the '55 Shop Manual -- there is a diagram
that shows all of the body to frame mount locations.  As to the rubber
material -- part numbers will not help as the original stuff is no longer available.

However, that said, I just finished restoration of a '55 and there are
subistutes available that will do the job (reinforced rubber pads that can be
cut to size).   Check with Steele Rubber Products.

Thanks Mike, But  my shop book is gone as well. I know that there are 3 different styles used. Its a matter of how many of each and what goes where. G.L.

You're lucky in as much as you can still buy replacement rubbers.

Try looking for ones for the '69 and '70.

I had to end up buying good used ones.

But, I can relate to people losing things, and not doing things right.

If you send me an E-Mail with your address, I'll be glad to make copies out of my shop
manual and mail them to you.  Mike
