My trunk lid on my '39 LaSalle (series 5027) is rotted on the bottom.  Can I swap a '39 Chevy coupe trunk lid?  Thanks.

Any "B" bodied GM car can likely be made to fit from 1939 and 1940. You might have to braze some holes shut, but I bet the attaching holes are all the same on the middle sized Pontiac, middle-sized Olds, Buick Century/Special, and the LaSalle and Cadillac Series 61. The Chevie will not fit. Google each car for those two years, and you should see easily which series are the same as your car. They are all sort of square looking. For 1939, the Olds and Pontiac are possibly the top of the line, and then in 1940, they offered the GM "C" torpedo body for the top cars such as the 98 Olds. Good luck.
