1940 signals were manual canceling. 1941 were the first fully automatic canceling turn signals.l

Right on about the first
Cadillac
self-cancelling turn signals. But I think that the '40 Buick might have had self-cancelling turn signals.

My '40's turn signals are not self canceling, but at my age you're expected to leave them on all the time.
