When I took The Ark to a huge show north of Boston last month I got 10.5 in heat, high humidity,
and heavy traffic going through Boston twice. Those engines 'like' to be hot.

Quote from: StevenTuck on August 04, 2022, 08:42:53 AMWhy didn't you get "THE ARK"? That's what you call it all the time. I guess it was taken.

Because in this state it would have looked like "THEARK"
They don't allow spaces or 'dots' anymore. And any numbers have
to be on the right side now, I would have preferred "9MPG".

That's about right, Laurie. In 2008, with gasoline pricier than today, I drove my '70 to California and back. I would fill up every 100 miles as a defense against vapor lock at a cost  of about $260 per day! Gas prices one year later were at record lows. Timing is everything.

Still, I would not trade the experience for the money I spent.

States may be standardizing those custom plate rules.  I
have them on 3 cars here in IL.  Long ago I sent quite a
number of requests, and they kept rejecting them for an
unknown reason.  I finally figured out on my own, car
plates had to start with letters and end with numbers,
trucks were the reverse.

The Eldo got this plate, though it would have been OK
on any of my cars.  For me, 79 had the best of all that
came before, and none of the worst that came before.
And it had the best of what was to follow, but none of
the worst.  I have lists, a 400 trans and a 400 engine
are very prominent.  Bruce Roe

Gas was higher than $6 a gallon in 2008? I remember hi test being around $3.80 during the Obama Regime.
