Speedy Sleeve

Hi,
I want to throw a speedy sleeve on the crank of my 67 429. I am wondering if someone might know the size off hand.

If you do it let us know how it works out.   I have tried them a couple times and they just didn't seem to fit correctly.  The one that did seem to work somehow got loose and made a worse leak than I had originally.  These were not 429's or even crank seals for that matter but I think the concept is basically the same wherever they are used.

I have never had any problems with installing or using a Speedy-sleeve.

I use Loctite Super Bearing Mount to seal it in position.   Acts as a lubricant when installing as well.

My experience was too long ago for me to remember the finer details.   Perhaps not using a loctite sort of product was my issue.   I don't remember buying anything extra so if it didn't come in the kit I likely didn't use it.

One reason I use the Loctite is that the reason the Speedie Sleeve being used is because the area under it is not perfect.

Loctire Super Bearing Mount takes up the imperfections, and seals the surface between the sleeve and the shaft.

Makes sense.  Starts wet so its a lubricant then turns to glue.   Directions could have said that but I bet I didn't bother to read them and it was before the internet was an option.
