I personally would opt out on the 67 from the perspective of unique parts. The 68 is effectively identical in appearance.

Theres a very pretty maroon one on Hemmings but for the asking price it better be a mint condition example.  Its a very presentable #3 imho.

Hey James,

Quick question. You mentioned, "rust under the vinyl tops, kept mine well "lubricated" nearly every week".
 CDV has some moderate rust under the vinyl. What exactly was your "lube solution"?

Back then (70-80's) there were a couple of paste-like products that would put a rather bright gloss on a weather-worn, dulled out vinyl top.  When I first applied it, I was not entirely pleased as the vinyl "absorded" it product unevenly, but by repeated application, it became apparent that moisture would beed... this apparent water proofing would last for a couple of rainy periods, so I was regularly applying it because some "rust pimples" had already appeared (it was 6years old when I purchased it) and I was not going to have the roof vinyl replaced.  Keeping that car's outward skin bright and clean and as free of rust as possible kept the romance of it in my life for over a decade, and as mentioned, it was my daily commuter car-- over 90 miles, 5 days a week, for a decade.  I never pushed the engine and transmission--- I had to replace the entire exhaust system, as one of the forward pipes dragged on the highway pavement and pulled the enitre system out of the car... I also had to replace the fuel pump (it leaked!) as well as the water pump.  Climate control always worked.
