Title: Allante parts
Post by: Roger Zimmermann on October 28, 2015, 12:06:40 PM
Some time ago, I asked a company called "Tom's Allante Parts Allante Club of America" if they have tail lamps for an Allante. To my surprise, I got the same day an offer for those lamps. As the price is on the high side, before I'm ordering, I'm wondering if other have experiences with that company. Bad experiences must be submitted by PM.
Strangely enough, when I asked for pictures, I got no answer at all. Strange...

Roger,

There are three major parts suppliers of Allante parts.
The guys that do this full time and have shops have a lot of overhead and tend to be a bit pricy.

There's Tom Rhoner in California, Dick Hussey in Florida (Allante Source in West Palm) and John Monzo in New Jersey.

I have dealt with all three and they are reputable and professional.

I will Send you some photos of a pair of 87 taillights I have in the garage and they will be cheap if you need them.

Hi Brian

Thank you for your comments. Pricey? You bet! Anyway, the person who asked for the lamps was not upset with the price. This is his money, not mine.
The car he has is a 1990. The back of the lamps is different from the ones you have; the number of bulbs is different. I'm afraid we cannot do a transaction this time.
If I'm getting no answer from Tom, I will look at the other sources.

Try Johnny Monzo.  He also runs an Allante Club with a lot of members.  He is on the east coast in NJ.

His email is itsonlyluv@comcast.net.  Tell him you know me from the Cadillac Club.

Correct!!
They have color keyed stripes across the inside of the tail light.

Red will work with anything if that's all you can find.

Thanks a lot for the interesting answers. As there is no urgency, I'm letting Tom a few days to react; if no answer, I'm going further with the addresses you provided.
About the stripes: the car is white, the customer would accept black stripes or red ones if lamps with white stripes are not available.

Finally, Tom sent me pictures from the lamps. I ordered them for the Allante owner; the lamps arrived two days ago. I did not unpack them competely, but it seems that they are NOS and in excellent condition. Case closed!

Wow. NOS taillights are very hard to find.
Now I know why you were startled by the price.
Must look great on the car.

Yes, they were more than $ 1000.00 each. The owner agreed to pay that amount; I have no problem with that...
