Any hints on doing this. Yes, it's being soaked.

Bob,

On my 1941 there is a bracket connected to the oil dip stick tube that bolts to the engine.

Hello Bob, please forgive me for being dense but I don't understand the problem. I assume the bottom of the dipstick tube is rusted stuck in the socket on the block? Is the engine in the car?

  I heated the boss in the block with my torch and it came right out.

you can give it a "tap" on the top with a block of wood,try and drive it down,that will help to loosen it,or maybe try a pipe wrench and give it a twist?. harveyb
