Trying to locate '49 Cadillac VIN 496214688 - Help?

We're trying to find the 1949 Cadillac that my engine came from, so we can return it. Know anyone with VIN 496214688?

There is no such car as a Cadillac "Sedanette" in 1949. Those were manufactured only in 1930 and 1931 in very small quantities. The model is correctly called a "Club Coupe."
