Hi
Would anyone have a picture of the shroud that goes on the underseat heater of a 53 COUPE ? Mine is missing and I don't know what it looks like. Thanks

Joe,

I hope somebody respones with a photo. There is none on my car either. I wonder if it ever had one? This has been brought up in the past and others have said that there should be one, but I've never seen a photo of an early 50's underseat heater with a shroud on it.

Hello, for what its worth, my 49 is the same no covers, just spinning blades under the seat  :-*
Chrome is my favorite color!

No fan shroud on my '53. I am certain that's the way it came. Art Woody

That doesn't surprise me though - who was worried about spinning blades and safety back in 53?

I'll refrain...but the potential for jokes with DISASTER in the punchline are too good!

No shroud on my (original) 52 sedan when I removed the whole thing and sandblasted/primed/painted the metal sheet parts.

No shroud on any of the more than a dozen 53s that I have been involved with. . . however I did buy a 53 Buick underseat shroud (for spares) which is identical to Cadillac stamping in everyway and it has a mesh shroud. Obviously it would have been a Buick sales feature  ;)

Because a Buick owner would have cleaned up under his own seat, whereas a Cadillac owner would have had someone else do it and wouldn't be concerned for his own fingers.

Why not? It is still as relevant as in 2011. This is no an old for-sale-thread,so no reason for you to yell around. Not a nice way of welcoming new members.

In this case it makes a lot more sense to continue the old thread instead of starting a new one. Because it is a collection of examples of a certain item.

Kjell, thanks for your contribution.

None on my 53 either. Don't believe they were ever there. In the Master Parts Book, there is an illustration of a 53 under seat heater. No fan guard is shown and no part number for a fan guard is listed.
