57 Sedan DeVille, heater doesn't work , finally figured out the whole fender had to come off to access it....yep, the heater box had  been bypassed ( hose with valve) , looks like it might have been leaking at one point...thus, the block off. Tested the blower, it works, so..... is it better to have it recored ( if its still good) or look for a replacement ?

2nd:  it was blocks off with a plate and cardboard....I need the connection rubber or whatever was used from the heater box to the blower. See enclosed photos.

Any ideas of where to find these parts or upgrades?

thx

Try Fusick automotive. I got my heater parts there. Pressure test the core same as a radiator.

I might try and use a 'modern' NEW heater core of approximate size and fit into available space. If you are careful 😰, that 'exploding' foam in a spray can can be extremely handy. I have done wonders with it.

They '57-58 blower to heater box hose is "square".   I think McVey's has repops, too.
I'm getting ready to start this job myself on the '58, should've been done by now, but recent eye troubles.   I'll probably make something myself out of on-hand materials.
I bought a spare core and had it rebuilt so I wouldn't lose time waiting on the radiator shop.   I also got a new cowl housing because I repaired one and it's a big job.   More than 20 hours and only half gone.   The parts guy shipped the whole assy. for one price.   The thermostat is the biggie.   Hard to get parts and only one place doing repairs.   No one makes the element/capsules any more.   They are a few modern alternates, but decided not to go that way.

Shouldnt have to pull the fender.I think I got the seal from McVeys.
