so Im thinking about rebuilding this 60 eng in my garage, but its atatched to a 1962 trans.Wondering what modifications were done. ie what flywheel is in there or any other mods. I no the starters are different. Can you tell me what Im in for when I split the trans from this engine.

The big difference is that the '61 and '62 transmissions are 1" higher in the ground clearance department, so you have to use the '62 spacer plate, and the accompanying Starter Motor snout because the bellhousing is also shallower.

This modification was done to the '61/'62 because the engine could be put closer to the ground, meaning the hood could be lower than the '60.   The body redesign necessitated the removal of the swinging oil pickup, meaning that the sump didn't need to be as deep.

Check the flywheel attached to the engine. There might be variations in tooth count, size, or design between different model years. If you need parts or kits of any kind, I suggest the 6.7 powerstroke delete kit . I often buy small things there. The prices are a bit bitey, but the quality is top notch

Great point Will. Ive separated them now. How to tell what converter is in the engine? Whats the different tooth count in a 60 and a 62. Should I take a pic of it? Could you tell?    I just thought of something. The converter and flywheel is in the 62 trans. The only thing on the back of the 60 eng. is the flex plate, Is that a 60? Or when I remove my 60 engine I can take that flex plate and use it. And the converter

Flywheels are the same from 1956 to 1960. The ones from 1961 to 63/64 have a different part number.
It's the same for the flywhel housing: same number from 1956 to 1960 (57 has another part nmber); 1961 to 1963/64 is different.

But when this guy jointed the 60 motor to the 62 trans, would he have had to change the flex plate. How can I tell if the flex plate , thats on the motor is a 60 or 62
