1964 Series 62 - what is this knob hanging under dash?

Hello All,

just bought this car.

can anyone tell me what this knob is hanging under the dash? i thought maybe twighlight sentinel, but i dont think the car has the sensor/option.

Previous owner can't help?  Going to need to see a pic. I would say.

The factory options were all labeled ... except* the 4 way hazard. That had a red plastic crown on it.

* the convertible top switch was not labeled either.

Most likely it's the twilight sentinel switch. I have that feature on my 64 as well, the knob pulls in and out to activate it and you twist the knob to delay when the headlights turn off after you walk away from the car at night. Very cool and nifty feature for its time.

FYI - figured it out. thanks for the helpful posts.

my Neutral Safety Switch has been bypassed and someone plucked off the backup light connector added a switch to control the backup lights.

I would be advising getting your NSS to work properly.

No good having the car being able to start when in gear.

You might know, but is someone else tries.   Not good.
