Welp my car decided to crap the bed literally feet from her storage unit.  Car ran fine until I stopped her to remove a car from her storage unit.  When I went back to turn her over I heard the starter spinning but it would not turn over the engine.  I'm assuming the starter clutch is shot or the starter itself has gone bad.  This makes sense as she would turn over very slowly even with a fully charged battery.  To top that off the radiator also has a pinhole leak which sprays coolant all over the compressor and other components on the passenger side.  To remedy this situation my questions are as follows:

1.  What is the Delco part number for the starter?  I see a few on eBay that are marked 54-56 starters but I want to make sure I purchase the correct one.  Also how difficult is it to swap a new one out for the old one?

2.  Does anyone have a radiator shop they'd recommend in the east valley of Phoenix?  Overall the radiator is in very good shape however it looks as if it will need a rebuild if a repair is not doable.

Thank you in advance for any recommendations or advice.

Tim sorry to hear about your recent Caddy issues. My 1956 MPL lists the starter motor for the 1955 Cadillac as part number #110 7629. The number I believe should be on the riveted red metal tag, if its still there. You may also see it stamped into the casing on the other side (as I have seen '56 starters like that). If you buy one ask the vendor to supply a clear photo of the number. The 12 volt 1953 - 1955 starters all have stand alone part numbers. Not sure why. The 1956 and '57s have the same part #. Did not check further. Perhaps a later MPL would provide further cross referencing, but my period MPL just lists the '55 starter as a stand alone part numbered unit. Clay/Lexi

Phil I can and will but for now I'd like to get her operational as soon as possible.  I think I've found a radiator shop in Gilbert who can do a repair (160) or a rebuild (350) on my existing radiator.

It'll be nice to get a new starter anyway.  The current one sounded like an elderly chain smoker trying to kick over a Model T.  Slow and noisy.
