For those of you interested in the current General Manager (Jim Taylor) of Cadillac, and what he has to say about the brand, an interview with him will soon be aired on the following networks:

Detroit Public Television: Sunday, January 21, 2007 at 7:30 a.m.

Speed Channel: Sunday, January 21, 2007 at 7:30 a.m. and Monday, January 22, 2007 at 10:30 a.m.

If you are like me, and your Cable does not get either of those networks, the interview (afterwards) will be available online at Autoline Detroit, with possibly an extended version of the interview--here is the link:

Although I am most fond of the past Cadillacs and the stories behind them, I also like hearing about the brand today, as it climbs back to its position as the "Standard of the World." Go Cadillac!

Here is the link to a video of the 2008 CTS unveiling, and it includes commentary by several Cadillac Motorcar Division employees and designers, including the General Manager, Jim Taylor. I found it quite interesting:

I sat next to Jim Taylor at the Cal GN banquet, and he was a most pleasant individual. His plans for the marque are far-reaching, and no matter what Lexus says, he intends to plant the Standard of the World nameplate back on Cadillac as soon as possible.
Apropos of nothing, your Executive VP of the Club called me today and managed to slip into the conversation that he has a brand new (190 miles) 2005 Cadillac straight-stick roadster. Red of course.
