I thought I recognized that car. I saw it on one of the tours held during a CLC event in Tampa a few years ago.

I saw that car during the Savanna Grand National.  My brother lived there and knew the local guy who owned it.  I believe he was the one to change the colors and the dash as apart at that time.  It has been for sale a few times since.  All these advertisements smell real bad, so I hope for the sake of the buyer, they are taking necessary precautions.  Body number 492.

Beautifully restored , gorgeous in that color combo but they never made one in that color , what does everyone think about the effect that is having on its value if any?

The value of anything that has had a colour change depends on who wants to buy it.

The Purist who wants an original - low - or not interested.
The Buyer who is not a purist, then not much.

Sounds like someone had a whisper in his ear and said it was cheap.

Based on what everyone mentioned above I would still be suspicious.

About a year ago I saw the exact same item, to be clear not this Cadillac, listed several times and always by different highly rated eBay accounts (lots of feedback over an extended period). I recognized the photos were identical each time. I assumed someone found a way to steal eBay accounts from people with good reputations.. maybe through phishing? Not certain but I can tell you eBay eventually caught-on because 1 time per 1-2 weeks the item was listed from a different seller and eBay removed it 1 or 2 days later. It happened at least 5x. No idea how eBay caught on though because if you hadn't noticed the history it wasn't obvious. The only "tell" was the price was too low. It kept showing in a search which I had eBay send me notifications for when something new was listed.

Who sells a car like that without doing any research? Maybe they did realize it was too low due to "chatter" but the point is, if it's legitimate, then they should have known before. They may have raised it only to make it less suspicious.

I normally like a modern take on the original color. Considering it's a 58 Eldo though it might make me more of a purist. In general; exactly as Bruce wrote. Red for me always has me wishing it was a different color. What color was it originally?

I would think the alterations would tend to put off most typical buyers for one of these. Less so a standard convertible.

I wouldn't want to deal with the bonded title. Everyone says "most times" there are no issues with bonded titles but I'd suspect with this car, there 'will' be some.

There were 4 1958 Eldorado Brougham's in (50) Dakota Red, but this was not one of them, it started out (112) Chamonix White.

Bottom line is this "ad" or "auction" is fraudulent.  I am an active participant of the AACA Forum where there are also several frequently seen, as in over and over, cars in the same format.  These scammers are an interesting lot and must do this scheme because they get deposits.
