Hello All,
I just noticed today that in my 76 Fleetwood Brougham, when the engine is running, there is air blowing  from a vent under the dash just above the transmission hump. It blows constantly even though the climate control is set to "off" and the car is not moving. Is this normal or is something out of the ordinary going on? Thanks for any info.

Thanks Dave. Did all the Cadillacs of this era do this? Just curious what the purpose of it is.

Big Fins

Yes! It was called various name by the different GM divisions. Most commonly known as Flow Through Ventilation. I don't remember what Cadillac called it. I think it was Astro Ventilation. I think 1968 was the first year of it.
Current:
1976 Eldorado Convertible in Crystal Blue FireMist with white interior and top. (Misty Blue)
1969 Fleetwood Brougham in Chalice Gold FireMist with matching interior and top. (The Old Man) SOLD!

Past and much missed:
1977 Brougham de Elegance
1976 Eldorado Convertible
1972 Fleetwood Brougham
1971 Sedan de Ville
1970 de Ville Convertible
1969 Sedan de Ville
1959 Sedan deVille

Thank you for that hornetball, this question/concern has been going around repeatedly for years.
Mostly it is to keep the ductwork dry so there isn't an instant inside window fogging because of damp ductwork when you turn the system on while going down the road.  Believe the first year was closer to 1964 with the advent of ATC, maybe '65.
We actually had a customer or two back in the day who knew more than the factory engineers (always some of those around) put in an on/off toggle switch for the fan in the dash.
