I am wondering if I would get better performance on the 76 Eldorado if I installed more efficient dual exhausts. I am looking for performance, but I don't mind a bit if sound :-)

Thanks

Here is my experience using duals on a large low
compression engine.  First use a crossover pipe
as close to the engine as possible, both to reduce
noise and improve performance.  Use the largest,
free flowingmufflers you can fit under the car,
same reason.  Finally use the largest resonators
you can fit, this more for noise reduction.  On
my 79 E it was another muffler.

This gave a system I only heard under heavy throttle,
but not as loud as the carb intake.  It felt the
same as a good single exhaust at launch.  But
torque did not trail off quite as fast, my stop
watch showed a clear 10% reduction in 0-60mph.

I fitted My 76 eldo with Flow-master series 50 and very big resonator it sounded healthier and got more horsepower due to the elimination of the odd cat
Sold my 76 eldo to the gentleman and he told me that she sounds very good at least it will bring a smile
