Title: 1937 75 Series Convertible top Operation
Post by: harry s on January 07, 2014, 09:50:43 PM
There was a discussion some months ago about the operation of the 1937 75 Series Convertible Sedan top. I was finally able to find the instruction sheet provided to the dealers from Cadillac.

Those pages are in the 36/37 and 38 body service manual Harry.

Harry,

I just noticed that they used a body without fenders or dashboard to illustrate the process.  Good finding!

That's pretty neat when you can just pull a brand new body off the shelf to make up an instruction sheet. I have the cover letter also, but my scanner is not working.  It is on Cadillac Motor Car Division letterhead dated July 12, 1937, and reads as follows:
     TO ALL DISTRIBUTORS:

     Subject:  Convertible Sedan Instructions

Illiustrated instructions have been prepared covering the raising and lowering
of the tops on tlhe Convertible Sedans of Series 37-75 and 85 cars.  Two copies
of these instruction sheets are enclosed with this letter.

These instruction sheets are not being sent to dealers and no attempt is being
made to supply them direct to owners who have purchased this body style.

At the request of a distributor, however, we will be glad to supply one or more copies
of the instruction sheet to a dealer having this body style in his territory, or to an
an owner of one of these cars.
