 I'm looking for and original hood crest for my '53 Fleetwood 60. I've just found this one but how could I be sure that's not a plastic replica?
They ask for $150. Seems too good shape you know. In case I buy another one, any company that could restore the crest? Thanks

McVey is selling those reproduced plastic parts for $ 205.00. You also need the bezel for that. It could be that the pictured part is a NOS, but I doubt. If they are reproduced, it means that a repair is almost impossible. Usually, the original plastic is in a bad condition due to the age, therefore a bad base for a repair. Cadillac jewels are expensive!

Yes I agree too perfect to be an original crest. What about this one they offer me?

Its condition would be in line with the car's own condition. If not too expensive, (I don't know what you can spend for that emblem) why not?
