I have re-posted some of this here again because it might be of general interest and because I had really stolen someone else's post in "For Sale". If it is of interest, the first section under "General Description" gives a brief comment on why the need for these early Cadillac "tank" (more correctly "military") engines was so urgent in the SW Pacific area early in 1942 and why the 1941 75 series engines were the best available at that time to be modified for their various military purposes.

Let me know how many 1941 owners would be prepared to crank start a flathead as was obviously intended judging by the section under "Provision for Hand Starting" on page 6.

I would also guess that a number of members would love some of the special tools called up at the back of the manual. I have seen some but not all in other sources before.

I'll post bigger versions of some of the stuff in separate posts to manage the number and file size.

I'm very grateful for you posting this stuff John. I have seen pictures of these tools before but never seen the dimensions.      I have tried making some of them in the past but they never worked that well because obviously they were not the correct sizes.
I have printed all this off and will set my son in motion (the engineer) and get some of these made.
Of special interest to Joe will be the lifter block assembly fitting tool as we discussed this item some time back.   I had made one but believe me if those dimensions are not followed it just doesn't work, I've proved that.
Another very useful one which has always beaten me is the camshaft bush fitting tool, that will be first on the list that and the rear oil seal compressor.
