A cracked cylinder bore can be sleeved.  An external crack in the block can be welded using moden methods, of course location is the key here.

Bob I know of a '55 Cad that is more or less complete, a project car, don't think the owner is parting out as too good a vehicle for that. Has the engine and claims it is loose. If you are so inclined and have the space to store it, perhaps it is of interest? As I recall you would have to buy the whole car, around $5000 or less if memory serves. If interested I will look for where I saw this and post for you. I also had a line on a 365 block from a '58 Cad, though I don't think that helps in your case. Clay/Lexi
